1. India’s 49th International Film Festival, in Goa.

India’s 49th International Film Festival was started in Goa at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium with the opening ceremony of Gala. The 9-day program will showcase 212 films from 68 countries. Veteran Israeli filmmaker Dan Wollman will be given the Lifetime Achievement Award this year.

2. Africa Industrialization Day on November 20.

The purpose of celebrating Africa Industrialization Day (AID) on 20 November every year is to increase global awareness about the challenges faced by the continent in relation to industrialization.
The theme of 2018 is “Promoting Regional Value Chain in Africa: Africa’s Structural Change, Industrialization and a Way to Accelerate Drug Production”.

3. Lakshya Sen won the bronze medal in the World Junior Badminton Championship.

India’s Top Junior shuttler Lakshya Sen (17 years old) has won a bronze medal in Li Ning BWF World Junior Badminton Championship in 2018, held at Markham, Canada.

The Padma Shri award winner respected Saint Narayana Das Maharaj has passed away near Jaipur. He was awarded Padmashree in January 2018.

5. The 14th edition of jashn-e-bachapan was organized for children in New Delhi.

A theater festival for children, 14th edition of Celebration-A-Childhood will showcase exhibitions of Switzerland, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia with their Indian counterparts in New Delhi. The festival was organized by the National School of Drama (NSD) Theater in Education (TIE) Company.

6. APEC summit organized in Papua New Guinea.

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit was held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea capital. Papua New Guinea (PNG), the poorest of the 21 APEC countries, has hosted the summit for the first time.

7. India’s first special hospital opened for elephants in Mathura.

Agra divisional commissioner Anil Kumar has opened India’s first special hospital for elephants in Churmura village of Farah Block of Mathura. The hospital is designed to treat injured, sick or geriatric elephants and is equipped with a medical upliftment to raise elephants, as well as an elephant restraint device with a dedicated indoor treatment attachment for long-term medical procedures.

8. The Maldivian Cabinet has approved to re-join the Commonwealth Group.

The Maldivian Cabinet has approved to re-join the Commonwealth Group two years after the return of 53-nation Commonwealth Group. The announcement by the new President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of the Maldives.

9. RBI sets expert panel for monitoring capital surplus issues.

The RBI Board decided to set up a high-level committee to investigate the issues related to the surplus capital of Rs 9.69 lakh crore with Central Bank and advised to consider a plan for reconstitution of stressed assets in the MSME sector.
