1. ASEAN Summit

The 33rd edition of the ASEAN Summit began on November 11, 2018 at Suntec Singapore Convention Centre, Singapore

    • Headquarters – Jakarta, Indonesia
    • Member countries – 10 member states, one candidate member state, and one observerstate (Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar (Burma), Cambodia, Brunei, Laos). 

2. Goa ban fishes

Goa announced ban on imports of fish for six months. In the coastal state, it was decided against the background of fear that formal, a potential cancer-causing chemical was used to protect the fish.

3. National Education Day

Central Government declared 11 November, the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, as National Education Day.

4. Mo bus

In Bhubaneswar, the Odisha government introduced the technology-driven and citizen-friendly ‘Mo bus‘ service, which includes free Wi-Fi, CCTV surveillance, public information demonstration system and board announcements in the city.

5. Tenure of Secretary General

Lok Sabha Secretary General, Snehlata Shrivastava’s tenure has been extended for one year by President Sumitra Mahajan.

6. Broadcasting day

Public service broadcasting day was celebrated across India on 12 November 2018. All India Radio in 1947, is celebrated every year to celebrate the first and last visit of Mahatma Gandhi’s father to the nation in the studio of Delhi.

7. Global Cooling Innovation Summit

Union Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan inaugurated the Global Cooling Innovation Summit in New Delhi on November 12, 2018.

8. 100th anniversary of the end of World War I

World leaders gathered in Paris to lead a global monument to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I in Paris on November 11, 2018

9. Simbex exercise

The 25th edition of the Simbex, “Singapore-India maritime bilateral exercise” will be held on 10- 21 November  2018 in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. The 2018 edition marks the Silver Jubilee of Symbian Key Fact: Simbex (Singapore India marine bilateral exercise) is the annual bilateral naval exercise organized by the Indian Navy and the Singapore Naval Republic (RSN). Practice has been held annually since 1994. 

10. Multi-modal terminal port

On November 12 November  2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated an inland multi-modal terminal port at Ganga in Ramnagar in Varanasi. 

11.   UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation 

The Lamo Center of Ladakh won the 2018 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation on November 9, 2018. This elite was restored from partial waste state.
