Important current affairs of November 22, 2018.

1. Millie Bobby Brown named the youngest UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

United Nations Child Agency UNICEF appointed Millie Bobby Brown on 20 November 2018 as the youngest goodwill ambassador to the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things”, and the 14-year-old had a message for world leaders “Listen to us!  “.

2. Manipal Academy of Higher Education Won the International Green Apple Silver Award.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education won silver in the International Green Apple Award for Best Environmental Practices 2018. This award was received by Derrick I. Joshua, Assistant Director of Environmental Stability, an award ceremony was done in the Houses of Parliament, London.



3. ICC’s partnership with Google.

In cooperation with Google, the ICC mobile app includes crack-enabled devices, such as Chromecast and casting of video content on Google Home Hub.

4. South Korean Kim Jong Yang new president of Interpol.

Kim Jong-Yang of South Korea has been elected as the next president of Interpol, he will replace Alexander Prokopchuk, the longtime veteran of Russia’s security services, who were strongly opposed to the United States, Britain, and other European nations.

5. Indian President Ram Nath Kovind visit Vietnam and Australia.

India’s President Ram Nath Kovind was on a trip of two countries Vietnam and Australia. In the first phase, he visited Vietnam. India and Vietnam issued a joint statement after extensive talks between Vietnam President Nguyen Phu Trong and Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.

Four MoUs signed between India and Vietnam

  • MoU between Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications and Ministry of Indian Affairs on cooperation on the field of communication.
  • MoU on cooperation between the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Vietnam and the Indian Business Chamber (INCHAM) in Vietnam
  • MoU between Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Ha Noi, Vietnam and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
  • Collaboration Agreement between the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

6. India, Russia deal with the US $ 500 million for the construction of two warships.

India and Russia, in spite of American warnings for sanctions, sent a clear indication of the continuation of high-level defense cooperation, for the Indian Navy, to deal with the $ 500 million deal for the construction of two missile frigates in Goa.

7. CSE won Indira Gandhi Peace Prize.

Science and Environment Centre (CSE) has won the Indira Gandhi Award for peace, disarmament, and development this year; this award is given every year by the Indira Gandhi Trust on the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister. The CSE was founded in 1980 under the leadership of late Anil Agarwal and is currently under the chairmanship of Sunita Narain.

  1. WHO report says that 24% decline in malaria cases in India.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said in a report that India is the only country which has reported a significant decline in cases of malaria among the 11 most populous countries in the world in 2017.

9. ConMac 2018 has been Launch in Kathmandu(Nepal).

Indian Embassy in Nepal and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized an exhibition of construction equipment and technology-ConMac 2018 in Bhaktapur near Kathmandu in Nepal. The aim of the exhibition is to increase the level of engagement between the two countries’ manufacturing industry.

CII Theme for 2018-19, is Responsible. Inclusive. Sustainable. Entrepreneurial(RISE).

10. Fourth Annual Ease of Doing Business in India Report Released.

‘UK India Business Council’s Ease of Doing Business Report 2018’ has been released. It was highlighted that the assumption of corruption as a barrier to the UK businesses to operate in India has reduced the assumption by 2015. India’s ranks 100th out of 190 countries.
