1. Sunil Arora was appointed Chief Election Commissioner.

Senior Election Commissioner of India Sunil Arora has been appointed as the next Chief Election Commissioner of the country on November 26, 2018. Sunil Arora will take charge in place of current Chief Commissioner OP Rawat on December 2, 2018.

2. the country’s first Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) Technology open in Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the State Data Centre with the country’s first Hyper-converged Infrastructure (HCI) technology in Dehradun on November 26, 2018. He said on the occasion of an inauguration, all the information on government departments will be available from this center at one place and simultaneously our activities will speed up and save energy.



3. Amendment in agreement to avoid double taxation between India and China.

The agreement to avoid double taxation between India and China has been amended. Amendment was signed between India and China on November 26, 2018, to avoid double taxation. Under the amendment, the provision of exchange of tax-related information between the two countries has been made. It will help in curbing tax evasion in both countries.

4. Children of first and second classes will not get Homework decided by the Central government.

Union Human Resource Development Ministry (HRD) has banned the first and second classes of homework. The Ministry has also issued guidelines for reducing the weight of the school bag. The HRD Ministry has issued Circular in this regard to the States and Union Territories on behalf of the Department of School Education and Literacy.

Children will be taught only languages and maths. Teaching students from 3rd to 5th class should be taught with language, EVS, and Math from the syllabus of NCRT.

5. NASA’s Mars Insight Lander landed on Mars.

NASA’s Insight Lander has landed safely on Mars. The ship reached Indian time at 1:20 pm on the surface of Mars on the night of 26-27 November 2018.

This NASA vehicle will study the internal conditions of Mars with the help of the seismometer.

6. ‘Hausla-2018’ was inaugurated in New Delhi.

Secretary, New Delhi, Shri Rakesh Srivastava inaugurated the National Festival for Children of Child Care Institution (CCI) – “Hausla 2018” of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD). Involves participation of more than 600 children of CCI from 18 states.

7. Center, ADB signed a $ 200 million loan agreement to upgrade state highways in Bihar.

Center and Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a $ 200 million loan agreement for extension and upgradation of 230 km of state highways in Bihar along with all weather parameters along with road safety facilities.

8. Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melakesenu on the official trip to India

Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melakesenu is on an official visit to India. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj held a delegation level talks with her Romanian counterpart in New Delhi.

He said that Romania strongly supports India’s proposal to the United Nations Conference on International Terrorism (CCIT).

9. Government to invest Rs 42,000 crore in PSU banks till March 2019.

According to a senior finance ministry official, the government will raise Rs 42,000 crore in state-owned banks till March-end and the next installment will be issued by December 2018.

The government had announced a capital investment program of 2.11 lakh crore in October 2017.
