1. Delhi government launches free pilgrim scheme for senior citizens.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has launched the ‘Chief Minister Tirth Yatra Yojana‘ which will provide free travel packages for five religious places for Delhi’s senior citizens. The 1,100 senior citizens of every constituency of Delhi will be able to avail of this facility at the same time.
Under the Free Tirtha plan, Delhi residents of the age of 60 years will be eligible for free pilgrimage with their spouse.
2. Fitch estimated India’s growth rate of 7.2% in FY19.
Finch rating has improved, with India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growing at 7.2% for the current financial year and high funding costs and credit availability reduction.
3. World’s fastest growing 10 cities in India.
World’s Top 10 Fastest Growing Cities (by 2019-2035):
Surat – 9.17%, Agra – 8.58%, Bangalore – 8.5%, Hyderabad – 8.47%, Nagpur – 8.41%, Tirupur – 8.36%, Rajkot – 8.33%, Tiruchirappalli – 8.29%, Chennai – 8.17%, Vijayawada – 8.16%.
4. PEETHA scheme started to strengthen brand innovation in Odisha.
To strengthen the brand new and to give it a national perspective after the success of Hockey World Cup, the Odisha Government has started the People’s Improvement – Anabaling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiative (PEETHA).
PEETHA is a sub-scheme of the Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojna, head of Odisha government.
5. The world’s first 3D working e-motorbike was built in Germany.
The German firm BigRep claims that he has produced the world’s first fully functional e-motorbike NERA using 3D printers. According to the company, NERA has unprecedented features like airless tires, embedded electronics, and forkles steering.
6. United Arab Emirates passport is the world’s most powerful passport.
The United Arab Emirates now has the world’s most powerful passport, which has achieved top ranking in a respected achievement as a tribute to founder father Sheikh Zayed and the legacy of country’s diplomacy. India was ranked 140th in the list.

7. Eliud Kipchog and Katrine Glaburgue were named as the IAAF athlete of the year.
Kenya’s long-distance runner Eliud KiPchog and Colombian long distance runner and Triple Jumper, Katrine Glabaguen, have been named as male and female world athletes of the year.
Jonah was honored by the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation) at a ceremony in Monaco. 34-year-old Kiploch won the London Marathon and set a world record of 2: 3:39 in Berlin.
8. Paisabazaar.com launches India’s first ‘Chance of Approval’ facility.
Paisabazaar.com, India’s largest online market for financial products, has introduced the first facility of an industry which will help loan applicants to choose the most suitable lender on their platform. Named ‘Chance of Approval’, this advanced predictive algorithm was created using Paisabazaar.com using data from last four years.
9. Scientists Develop a New Universal Cancer Test.
Scientists have developed a new universal cancer test that is capable of detecting all types of cancers. Scientists claim that this test is based on the structure of DNA. It can detect cancer and its type within 10 minutes.
This research is done by researchers from Queensland University of Australia. It has been published in Nature Communications Journal.
10. Sahitya Akademi Award 2018.
24 writers, including Hindi famous writer Chitra Mudgal, were announced on Wednesday for the Sahitya Akademi Award for the year 2018. In Urdu, Sahitya Akademi award was received by Rahman Abbas and Anees Salim in English.
