All schemes launched by Narendra Modi 2014 to 2019- Part-2

Important government schemes launched by Narendra Modi from 2014 to 2019. We already discussed the first part of schemes. It is the second Part of schemes.


1. Soil Health Card Scheme(मृदा स्वास्थ्य कार्ड योजना):

Launched Date– 19 February 2015
Launched By– Narendra Modi
Aim– Issue soil cards to a balanced use of fertilizers and provides a high yield to farmers at lower cost.

About Scheme:

The main objective of this scheme is to improve the productivity of the farmers by giving information about essential nutrients and fertilizers in their fields to the farmers. All soil samples are to be tested in various soil testing laboratories all over the country. After this, the experts will analyze the strength and weaknesses of the soil (lack of micronutrients) and suggest ways to deal with it. An amount of Rs.568 crore (US$84 million) was allocated by the government for the scheme.

2. Skill India Program(कौशल भारत कार्यक्रम):

Launched Date– 15 July 2015
Launched By- Narendra Modi
Aim- To train more than 400 million people.

About Scheme:

Skil India is a campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 15, 2015, which aims to train more than 400 million people in India in various skills by 2022.  The scheme emphasis to skill the youth of India in a way that they get employed and also improve entrepreneurship. This includes various government initiatives like “National Skill Development Mission“, “National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship”

3. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana(बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढाओ योजना):

Launched Date– 22nd January 2015.
Launched By– Narendra Modi
Aim– To save and empower girls and generate awareness

About Scheme:

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is a campaign of the Government of India, whose aim is to create awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services for girls.
The scheme was launched with an initial amount of Rs.100 crore. This plan will not only protect Daughter but it is not so. Betiya will be safe under this scheme and her studies will also be done well so
that she can make her own identity in society and live her life with respect.

Benefits of this Plan:

  • Under this scheme, girls will get financial assistance for studying.
  • Under this scheme, girls will have to get up until further studies.
  • With this plan, financial assistance will also be available for the daughters’ marriage.
  • The big advantage of this will be that the feticide of the daughters has decreased.

4.Pradhan Mantri Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (प्रधानमंत्री सुकन्या समृद्धि योजना) PMSSY:

Launched Date– 22 Jan 2015
Launched By- Narendra Modi and Ministry of Women and Child Development
Aim- To encourages parents to build a fund for the future education and marriage expenses for their girl child.

About Scheme:

Our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, started the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana on January 21, 2015. The scheme has been implemented under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign, for the purpose of higher education and for the big expenditure of marriage, the scheme has been implemented.
This scheme has been given to all Indian children of the age group of 0 to 10 years, in this scheme, parents, parents or guardian, for the future of their daughter or for their studies, bank or post office in the name of their daughter  and can deposit money according to their suitability under this scheme. The scheme currently provides an interest rate of 8.5% and tax benefits.
By the time daughter becomes 14, you will have to deposit money into the account and after 21 years, the maturity of the account becomes matched.


5. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (दीन दयाल उपाध्याय ग्राम ज्योति योजना ) -DDUGJY:

Launched Date– 25th July 2015.
Launched By- Narendra Modi & GoI
Aim- To provide continuous power supply to rural India.

About Scheme:

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be launching Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) on 25th July 2015 in Patna. The DDUGJY Scheme approved by the Union Government draws its inspiration from the similar pioneering scheme implemented by the Government of Gujarat. This scheme will enable to initiate much-awaited reforms in the rural areas. It focuses on feeder separation (rural households & agricultural) and strengthening of sub-transmission & distribution infrastructure including metering at all levels in rural areas.
The scheme will replace the existing Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY). The Scheme has an outlay of Rs 76000 crore for implementation of the projects under which Government of India shall provide Grant of Rs 63000 crore. A total of Rs 14680 crore.

6. Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation(कायाकल्प और शहरी परिवर्तन के लिए अटल मिशन ) -AMRUT:

Launched Date– 24 June 2015
Launched By- Narendra Modi
Aim-  To provide basic civic amenities like water supply, sewerage, urban transport, parks.

About Scheme:

Focusing on establishing a basic framework that can ensure urban sewage network and water supply for urban changes by implementing urban revival projects. Rajasthan was the first state in the country to present state annual work plan under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).

On the basis of Smart Cities Mission, 1 lakh crores (the US $ 14 billion) investment on Urban Development and Renewal mission for the city’s rejuvenation. Transformation of 500 cities has already been approved by the government.

7. One Rank One Pension(एक रैंक एक पेंशन):

Launched Date– 5th September 2015 
Launched By- Narendra Modi
Aim-  To provide same pension, for same rank, for same length of service regardless of the date of retirement.

About Scheme:

One Rank One Pension (OROP), or “same pension, for same rank, for same length of service, irrespective of the date of retirement”, is a longstanding demand of the Indian armed forces and veterans. Ex-servicemen drawing pension will be benefitted by the scheme, especially those who retired before 2006.

1000 crore has been allotted by the Finance Minister for the scheme. Personnel who voluntarily retire will also be covered under the OROP scheme. In future, the pension would be re-fixed every 5 years.

8. Gold Monetization Scheme (स्वर्ण मुद्रीकरण योजना):

Launched Date– 4th September 2015 
Launched By- Government of Indian
Aim-  Reduce gold imports in India. It pays the depositor of the gold a fixed rate of interest.

About Scheme:

Gold or any kind of jewellery can be deposited in any form. Although jewellery with embedded stones is not accepted. The minimum amount of gold that will be accepted as a deposit is 99 grams of 30 grams of beauty. There is no upper limit for the statement.

The tenure for deposit: 

 Short term: 1 to 3 years
 Medium term: 5 to 7 years
 Long term: 12 to 15 years
The investor will be allowed to break the deposit during the lock-in period by paying a penalty for premature withdrawal. As of now, the rate of interest is 2.25% on the current price of gold for the short term and 2.5 % for the medium and long-term deposits. 


9. Startup India, Standup India (स्टार्टअप इंडिया, स्टैंडअप इंडिया):

Launched Date– 16 January 2016
Launched By- Narendra Modi
Aim-  To provide support to all start-up businesses in all aspects of doing business in India.

About Scheme:

Startup India is an initiative of the Government of India. a self-certification scheme related to nine labour and environment laws. He also said that there would be no inspection of the enterprises during the first three years of the launch. It will boost employment generation and wealth creation.

  • The start-ups will adopt self-certification to reduce the regulatory liabilities.
  • An all-India hub will be created as a single contact point for start-up foundations in India.
  • An online portal, in the shape of a mobile application
  • The government will develop a fund with an initial corpus of Rs 2,500 crore and a total corpus of Rs 10,000 crore over four years.
  • At present, investments by venture capital funds are exempt from the Capital Gains Tax.
  • Start-ups would not pay Income Tax for three years.
  • A panel of facilitators will provide legal support and assistance in submitting patent applications and other official documents.

10. UJWAL Discom Assurance Yojana(UDAY):

Launched Date– 5 November 2015
Launched By- Narendra Modi &Union Power Ministry
Aim-  Affordable and accessible 24×7 Power for All.

About Scheme:

UDAY Scheme was launched by Union Power Ministry for financial turnaround and revival package for state electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs). It aimed to help to make discoms financially and operationally healthy so they can supply adequate power at affordable rates.

The Scheme aims to reduce the interest burden, reduce the cost of power, reduce power losses in the Distribution sector, and improve the operational efficiency of DISCOMs. Under the scheme, states shall take over 75% of DISCOM debt as on 30 September 2015 over two years – 50% of DISCOM debt shall be taken over in 2015-16 and 25% in 2016-17.
